Braden's Surgery
Braden got his tonsils and adenoids out on August 7th. I think I was more nervous than he was. The doctor said it would be about a ten day recovery and it was eleven days until school started, so I was hoping it would all go well in the healing process.
The day of surgey Braden could not eat at all and he didn't go in until 11:00 a.m. That is a long time for a seven year old. He got all teary when I told him he couldn't eat or drink until I told him I wouldn't eat or drink with him. That's a long time for a 33 year old.
Well, he made it through surgery all right, he was crying and scared right after. He kind of freaked out about the I.V. in him. Average recovery time is about an hour and we were there for about 2 1/2 hours. He puked all the red slushy and water everywhere, so we had to start over because they wouln't let him go until he kept down so much fluid. Well, then the codeine knocked him out, so he slept for a while. (In the meantime, some girl that just got her tonsils out had come in an hour after him and already left for home. )
After a few days of no speaking because he thought it would hurt, and quite a bit of puking he started to feel better. Thank Goodness!!!!!!
Here's some pictures...........
Right before the surgery.

Camping Trip #2 (August 2008)
We went to the same place in Spanish Fork Canyon.
We love it there!!
We did go to a different site though.... there was a single sycho man in the spot we had last time.
We had to have one last trip before Braden got his tonsils and adenoids out, and before school started!
Here's some of the pictures.........
More river fun!! Don't you love Scott's hat!!

Camping Trip June 2008
We had our first camping trip of this year!
We went up Spanish Fork Canyon to a place Chad and Brook have been to before. It was a great place to camp.
We also had a few additions to our camping gear that made things more pleasant.
- An EZ up tent to go over the table.
- A 3-burner stove.
- A table to cook the dutch oven (no bending down).
- A bigger tent.
We loved it and so did the kids.
Here are a few pictures.........
Locked out at 2 a.m.
So.... my friend and I were sharing a queen size air mattress.
We were talking really late (3 adult woman), and had decided to try to sleep.
I was not falling asleep and on top of that the air mattress was starting to go really flat.
I decided I needed to go to the bathroom and Miriam came with me, while Shaunte was already asleep with ear plugs in and on a full air mattress.
It did not dawn on us that we would need to get back in after we came back because the door was a door that locked automatically every time it was closed.
We were locked out!!!
Shaunte in there snoring with ear plugs in!!
Half and hour later and a lot of banging, yelling, waking up a lot of people(the boys were in the next room) laughing hysterically, and entertaining someone named Jeff, Shaunte opens the door.
She took one look at us, says"dumb and dumber, get in here now". We finally get back in. Yeah!!
Some air bed repair and a lot more talking and laughing and we finally fall asleep.
About 2.5 hours later we had blaring music over all the speakers in the building waking us up.
Not very much sleep, but I seriously have never laughed so hard in my life.
Great fun!!!

The Mann Camp
It's a big building next to the Delta powerplant where the workers used to stay. It was perfect to entertain 150 teenagers. It had basketball, tennis, raquet ball courts. Pool and ping pong tables. Shuffle board. Huge cafeteria.
It was a lot of fun for me. I had about 6-7 hours sleep total for the two night there. Let me just say everything makes me laugh hysterically or cry when I am that sleep deprived. It was also an opportunity to let Scott be Mr. Mom which he did very well. He just bought 3 pizzas on the day I left and ate it everyday for lunch and dinner until I got home. Brynley was getting sick of it, but Scott and Braden enjoyed every bite!
I am glad to be home so I can sleep in my own bed again!! But especially to be with my sweet family again. Love them!!
